For over 30 years, the agents and staff of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® (CBDHR) spend the last months of the year collecting new and pre-loved stuffed animals to share with a variety of children’s organizations during the holidays. This annual Bear Hunt is one of our favorite times of the year, a season where we focus on paying it forward and blessing others! Our 2021 Bear Hunt has already begun, and we have placed donation stations at all of our office locations for anyone who’d like to participate and donate!
All the stuffed animals and teddys we receive are sorted out and donated with lots of love and care, with tender thoughts and well wishes for each child that will receive one. In 2006, a very special Purple Bear was found a teddy bear that has now become symbolic of all the love that is poured into every year’s Bear Hunt. The Purple Bear was dropped off at a Donation Station CBDHR placed at a local middle school. Under his ribbon was the sweetest little letter to its new owner as well as two small “presents” tucked carefully inside a tiny hole in his arm. One contained 1 quarter, 2 nickels, and 3 pennies. The other was a small shell with a note that read, “most fav shell.”
Every year since, we share the story of the purple bear to encapsulate the tenderness placed in each sweet donation, as we hope to make the holiday season just a little brighter for all the special children who receive a new fuzzy friend! To learn more about how to donate and get involved.
